Meat Science Lab Discussion & Tour

Visit The Ohio State University Meat Science Laboratory with Dr. Lyda Garcia virtually!


During this LIVE tour participants will: 

  • Learn the underlying principles of biology, physiology and nutrition that drive beef cattle growth and the impact on their meat quality
  • Learn about the relationships between on-farm, packing and retail segments of beef production.
  • Be able to ask questions to be answered live during the tour by Dr. Lyda Garcia
NOTE: Please be advised that this Virtual Field Trip will show some practices related to the slaughter process and processing a carcass into retail cuts of meat, but will not show the entire harvest process.


This trip is available to watch two ways so that students can participate whether they are in the classroom or learning remotely at home.

Registering will also provide you reminder emails and notifications of future virtual field trips.
