French Dip Sliders

These mini French Dip sandwiches are one of the easiest meals to make!  Your crockpot will do most of the cooking and it will leave you with tender and flavorful beef and a tasty sauce to go with it!  These slider sandwiches are fun for parties but also make a simple weeknight family meal!

ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast, trimmed 
  • 2 cans beef consomme 
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce 
  • 24 Hawaiian rolls 
  • 8 slices provolone 
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter 
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

  1. Place your chuck roast (trim the roast if it has too much fat) in the crockpot. 
  2. Cover the roast with two cans of beef consomme, water, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours (no peeking!) 
  3. After 8 hours, remove the roast two a bowl to shred with two forks.  Strain the “au jus” or broth mixture into a bowl to serve alongside the sandwiches. 
  4. Split 24 Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally.  Place provolone cheese slices on the bottoms of the rolls.  Top the cheese with the shredded beef and place to top buns over the beef. 
  5. Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and Italian seasoning and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until cheese has melted and the rolls are golden brown.
