Direction of Education

The position plans and implements most producer and consumer educational programs for the Ohio Beef Council. Serves as a state coordinator and instructor for the Beef Quality Assurance program. Coordinates producer communications and compliance efforts for the Ohio Beef Council. Proven organizational skills and excellent oral and written communications skills are essential.  Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of software programs. Agricultural background required, cattle background preferred.

Administrative Assistant

The position requires excellent customer service and phone skills. It involves general office work, including managing various computer databases, receptionist duties, shipping materials and mailings, ordering supplies, and coordinating storage and display materials. The position provides event, communications and graphic design support for other staff members. Graphics design skills and proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop are preferred. Cattle industry background is preferred, but not required.

Public Relations Internship

The full-time public relations internship will provide the successful candidate with excellent experience in communications and promotions through the coordination of numerous events and activities. The successful candidate will help with the planning, coordination and execution of all displays during the Ohio State Fair; assist with the Young Cattlemen's Conference and assist with other events and promotions. The internship will begin in mid-May and last until mid-August with flexibility based on course schedule. Application deadline is February 15.

The Ohio Beef Council offers many internships for college students throughout the year. A scholarship will be awarded to each intern and the intern can earn credit while completing the internship. For more information regarding specific internships, call the OBC office at 614.873.6736.
